IS THIS UGLY OR WHAT????
This is what a knee looks like after 8 surgery's including 2 total knee replacements a year apart...I was in a bad car accident and my knee went through the dashboard..ouch I know...after 6 arthoscopy's my doctor decided to do a total knee replacement..what I didn't know is I was dealing with a doctor who was doing medicade fraud and had hurt alot of people, at the time I didn't know you should really check out a doctor's reputation...I know I am way to trusting....and I paid for it he put a knee in that was way to big and it got so infected I almost lost my leg...my then fiance took me to the emergency room where they drained this horrible stuff out and I had to go into emergency surgery with a different doctor who turned out to be a great doctor, thank God and its been doing good, I mean its going to hurt I know its been through alot i have a rod in my leg that runs down to my ankle and up to my hip...... its been three years now since this one was put in this was a year after the first one I had no idea that the redness and me being sick was because of my knee I thought it was the healing process, I kept going back for checkups with him and he told me THAT'S normal..NOT!!! I learned later....that doctor is now sitting in prison where he can never hurt another person, I prayed daily that he would never hurt anyone again in fact I wanted to sit in front of his office but was told I would get arrested for that God answered my prayers he can't work on another person EVER, when he gets out he has no license to ever practice again. I know your wondering why I am posting this well if you look at the pictures close on the right hand side its very swollen and swelling more by the day, right under my knee cap....all the parts in my knee are artificial so I have no idea what is going on......I have no idea if this is normal it hurts so bad and looks like it needs drained I guess my question to all of you is: do you know anyone who has had a total knee replacement or you have had one and is this normal..I am going to call a doctor, I just moved so I have to find a new doctor and that's scarey to me after everything this poor knee has been through. I was lucky enough to keep my leg last time and I am scared if there are any complications what that could mean for me I have been running a fever everyday for a week now....I just want to be pain free but I don't think that will ever happen so like I said if you have the answers I am looking for let me know!!! thanks I know they are not so pretty to look at picture's but I have to look at it everyday or my poor hubby does I try not to let it bother me but it does....thanks for reading...

Go to a doctor...NOW!!! A fever for days is indicative of an infection. Swelling + fever = infection. Do not take any chances. Go to the hospital and get an ER referral for an ortho. Please don't fool around with that history. I'm praying for you to be well very, very soon. As a second thought, maybe it is lyme...my daughter's knee swelled up and was drained this year after a soccer field injury. It wasn't injured, it was LYME. Either way, go get checked. Today.
ReplyDeleteI'm with Lily, get to the er infection is not something to ignore. If you ignore infection to long it will get in your blood stream and could go into your brain. Go.
ReplyDeleteI am throwing in with Lily. A fever is definitely a sign of infection, as are the swelling and redness. Like everything else, the sooner you catch something, the better your odds are of fixing without complications. So do not wait. I would go straight to the ER on this one. You don't have time to fool around with new new patient waits on a primary care first doctor visits and then the wait on a referral. That knee needs immediate attention.
ReplyDeletethanks girls I am headed there as soon as my hubby gets home should be any minute I will let you know what I find out
