CUTE VALENTINE CUPCAKES

I am going to a party today and bring the cupcakes, here are some great easy ideas I found..not to mention sooo cute.
THE SWEET CUPID CUPCAKE!!!

1. Frost a cupcake (baked from your favorite recipe) with pink- or peach-tinted frosting.
   
2. For wings, use kitchen shears to cut a large marshmallow in half vertically, then snip each half widthwise a few times for a feathery look. Press a thin pretzel stick against the sticky side of each marshmallow half, then stick the pretzels into the cupcake.
   
   
3. Press a handful of crisped rice cereal along the top of the cupcake for Cupid's curly locks, then add a decorators' gel mouth and eyes. Finally, set a candy heart in place and pipe on frosting fingers, if you like.
   

CHOCOLATE CHERRY CUPCAKES...

1 box SuperMoist devil’s food cake mix Water, vegetable oil and eggs called for on cake mix box 1/2 teaspoon almond extract, if desired 1 can (21 oz) cherry pie filling 2 containers (4 oz each) vanilla pudding 1 container (1 lb) Betty Crocker® Rich & Creamy chocolate frosting

1. Heat oven to 350°F (325°F for dark or nonstick pans). Make and bake cake mix as directed on box for 24 cupcakes, using water, oil, eggs and almond extract. Cool in pans 10 minutes; remove from pans to cooling racks. Cool completely, about 30 minutes.
2. Just before serving, remove paper baking cups. Cut cupcake in half horizontally with serrated knife. On bottom half of cupcake, spoon 1 tablespoon cherry pie filling; top with 2 teaspoons vanilla pudding. Replace top of cupcake.
3. Remove lid and foil cover from frosting container. Microwave frosting on High 30 seconds. Stir thoroughly until very soft and smooth, microwaving an additional 5 to 15 seconds if necessary. Spoon 1 tablespoon frosting over top of cupcake. Top with 1 cherry from pie filling.
4. Repeat steps 2 and 3 with remaining cupcakes. Serve immediately.

Well I am off to the store to get my supply's I'll let you know how they turned out!!! The party is at 3:00..WHY do I always wait for the last minute..:-) OH AND I HOPE YOU HAVE A SPECIAL DAY TODAY!!! Tomorrow is Valentine's day I know my hubby has something surprised I am sure it will be fun maybe I will tell you all about it, JUSTS depends...LOL
